The Emergency Response Team is trained and equipped to respond to hazardous material incidents. The FEMA Type 1 HAZMAT team is composed of volunteers from area emergency management, law enforcement, fire and emergency medical agencies. The team provides emergency agencies, countywide, with trained personnel and the necessary equipment to respond to chemical spills and hazardous material accidents within the county.

The team purchased a Cloud Jumper Quad/Octo Unmanned Ariel System (UAS)  in December 2015 to assist in the teams responses to HAZMAT situations. The UAS is used to prevent the need to send team members downrange to assess the nature of a hazardous materials spill. It can hover over a spill and help team members identify the substance from a safe distance.
